The Union Station wasn’t just a transportation hub—it was Nashville’s social hotspot! 🚂✨
People came from rural areas to people-watch, listen to the sounds of trains, and watch circus animals unload. The brass bells, steam engines, and lively announcements made it an iconic place full of energy and excitement. For decades, it was the heart of the city’s attention.

Did you know The Union Station’s original clock tower was the first digital clock of its kind in the U.S.? ⏰ Designed by Major Lewis and J.W. Braid, it featured an intricate system of 69 wheels, 80 feet of shafts, and even French-made linen! The clock was Nashville’s official time, keeping everyone in sync—especially the trains. 🚂
