The Story of Union Station

The Union Station Nashville Yards is a finely appointed boutique hotel offering modern-day time travelers a true Nashville experience, offering unprecedented insight into the city’s past, present and future. The former train station, established in 1900, was a bustling terminal on the L&N Railroad. The imposing Gothic design – complete with turrets and towers – made The Union Station an architectural marvel in its day.

Historic Features

Look around and soak up the historical charm of our distinctive setting. Travel through time, yet live firmly in the moment, as you admire heavy-stone Richardsonian-Romanesque design and a clock tower featuring a statue of Mercy, the Roman god of shopkeepers, merchants, travelers and transporters of goods. Walk beneath the 65-foot-high, barrel-vaulted lobby ceiling, featuring gold-leaf medallions and 100-year-old, original luminous prism stained glass. Cross marble floors, pass through oak-accented doors and walls, and warm yourself by three limestone fireplaces. Don’t miss the 20 gold-accented bas-relief angels of commerce figurines and the 2 bas-relief panels – a steam locomotive and a traveling chariot – at each end of the lobby.
